Clear answers about the free demo, lesson technology, level assessment, and contacting Mr. Bob.
Yes. The demo lesson is currently completely free, with no obligation to continue afterward.
The demo is 50 minutes. This gives Mr. Bob enough time to meet the student, assess their current level, and introduce the type of lesson that may suit them best.
A parent should be nearby during the demo in case there are technical problems.
However, parents should allow the student to answer independently and should not help with questions. This helps Mr. Bob understand the student’s true level and choose appropriate lessons.
During normal weekly classes, parents usually do not need to attend.
Most lessons are taught through Zoom because it is reliable, familiar, and easy to use.
Mr. Bob can also use VooV Meeting, Tencent Meeting, or ClassIn when necessary.
Parents receive the correct Zoom link before the lesson and can join by clicking it. For regular weekly classes, Mr. Bob will confirm whether the same Zoom link will continue to be used, so parents know which link to bookmark. Creating a Zoom account is not normally required when a student joins as a guest.
After the demo, Mr. Bob will explain the student’s approximate CEFR level, strengths, difficulties, and recommended lesson plan. The parent can then decide whether to reserve a regular weekly lesson time. There is no obligation to continue.
That is completely fine. Mr. Bob will estimate the student’s level during the demo using a series of carefully selected questions and activities.
The questions start off easy and become more difficult over time. When the work becomes a little hard, Mr. Bob will stop increasing the difficulty and spend more time exploring that level. He can always make the work easier or harder when appropriate.
Students can also visit the educational games section to see examples of activities at different CEFR levels.

Most students learn best with a fixed weekly schedule — the same day and time each week, so English becomes a habit rather than an occasional event.
Students join lessons from different countries and time zones. Most of Mr. Bob’s students live in East Asia and attend lessons according to Beijing Time, or BJT (UTC+8). Please check the time zone displayed by Calendly before confirming your appointment so there are no surprises.
